Roaming Trio or Roaming Band? Choosing Your Cocktail-Hour Music

Roaming musicians move among your guests instead of playing from a stage. They are perfect for welcome drinks, cocktail hours and welcome dinners. The most common question we hear is simple: trio or five-piece?
The Roaming Trio
- Line-up: male vocals and acoustic guitar, double bass, cajón.
- Feel: intimate and conversational. The music embraces the room rather than filling it.
- Best for: smaller groups, dinners where guests want to talk, gardens and courtyards.
The Roaming Band
- Line-up: the trio plus saxophone and electric guitar.
- Feel: fuller, louder and more festive. A moving party that gathers people around it.
- Best for: larger groups, welcome parties and when you want energy from the first minute.
How to choose
Think about the size of the space, the number of guests and the energy you want before dinner. For a calm, elegant cocktail hour, the trio is ideal. For a welcome party that should feel like the start of the celebration, choose the band.
Watch both live on our Roaming Band page, each with one minute of unedited sound.
